Research Allowances

Targets:

This annual call for projects is addressed to labeled laboratories located in the Hauts-de-France region, in charge of proposing thesis topics. If necessary, the thesis can be carried out in a company in the Hauts-de-France region, with a labeled laboratory located in Hauts-de-France. These proposals are prioritized by research institutions or organizations before being sent to the Region for instruction. Indirectly, the beneficiaries are doctoral students preparing a PhD thesis.

Objectives:

• Promoting and structuring the excellence of research in the regions by strengthening the human capital of regional laboratories and by encouraging the development of students’ skills through the pursuit of long-term studies,
• Allowing a doctoral student preparing a thesis to devote himself to his research work by benefiting from a work contract and a salary,
• Contributing to the visibility and influence of research potential in the regions and thus participating in economic development.

ACTIONS:

This allowance allows a doctoral student preparing a thesis to devote himself to his research work by benefiting from an employment contract called a doctoral contract fixed by the decree 2016-1173 of August 29, 2016.

The allowance allocated by the region covers a maximum of 50% of the doctoral student’s salary, utilities and other charges included.

The allowance is awarded for a period of three years.

The thesis must be carried out in a laboratory and/or a company in the Hauts-de-France region.
